Salesforce (CRM) announced a $15 billion investment in San Francisco over the next five years, aimed at:
- Boosting AI adoption across its platforms, including Slack
- Creating an AI incubator hub on its SF campus
- Supporting companies in implementing AI agents to automate tasks
CEO Marc Benioff said:
“This $15 billion investment reflects our deep commitment to our hometown — advancing AI innovation, creating jobs and helping companies and our communities thrive.”
The investment comes as Salesforce competes with Microsoft, Oracle, and ServiceNow in the fast-growing AI space. It coincides with:
- Launch of Agentforce 360, a global AI platform
- Upcoming Dreamforce conference in SF, expected to attract ~50,000 attendees and generate $130M in local revenue
Salesforce, which employs 76,000+ people globally, also plans a $1 billion investment in Mexico over five years.
